Hapag-Lloyd says it completed the sale of three panamax boxships, which went to demolition yards certified for their 'green' recycling practices.
The Deira, Najran and Sakaka (all 4,100-dwt, all built 1998) will be transferred to shipyards in China and Turkey. The ships no longer fit their portfolio, Hapag-Lloyd said in a statement.
It did not release the names of the yards handling the demolitions.
