Ernst Russ Group, the investment and asset manager controlled by German shipowner Jochen Dohle, has added two former private equity-funded boxships to its growing containership fleet.
The 2,450-teu EM Andros (renamed Ella, built 2003) and EM Psara (renamed Rita, built 2007) have emerged as the latest acquisitions of the German investment manager.
The sub-panamax boxships have been acquired from Euromar, the private equity venture formed seven years ago with the backing of Eton Park Capital Management and Rhone Capital, which are leaving the containership sector.
