Lomar Shipping's grounded boxship Kea Trader is suffering more damage as its salvage continues off New Caledonia.

The 2,194-teu newbuilding got stuck on Durand Reef on 12 July and has deteriorated to such as extent that it has to be scrapped.

A Lomar spokesman said: “The vessel is being affected by a constant, heavy movement of the sea, even in good weather.
