Taiwan's Wan Hai Lines has seen earnings leap in the third quarter as revenue rose.

Net profit to 30 September was TWD 1.28bn ($42.52m), against just TWD 68,000 in the same period of 2016.

Revenue was up at TWD 15.81bn from TWD 14.06bn, while costs increased to TWD 13.42bn, compared to TWD 12.8bn a year ago.

Wan Hai has this year cancelled an order for a series of feederships it had agreed at Naikai Zosen Corp in a blow to the Japanese yard.
