A decade ago, it would have been inconceivable that a vessel of 10,000 teu would be lined up with anything other than a long-term charter.

But today, the market has changed beyond recognition, with a growing number of large boxships in the 8,000-teu to 10,000-teu range being fixed out on short-term charters.
