HMM and AAL are to cooperate in the multipurpose (MPP) sector.
The Korea and Singapore-based companies said they are launching a new Asia to Middle East service and could follow this up with an exchange of space deal, as well as further routes.
HMM will deploy four 30,100-dwt 640-class ships and AAL two 31,000-dwt A-Class vessels on a 15 and 30-day rotation.
