Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is to stop calling in Iran after the US pulled out of the international nuclear deal with Tehran.

It had been taking bookings again after sanctions ended following the JCPOA agreement in 2015.

But it said in a note to customers: "In consideration of the impending US withdrawal from the JCPOA, and corresponding re-enlargement of its sanctions programme, we regret to inform you that MSC is ceasing to provide access to services to and from Iran."
