India has scrapped its cabotage rules in a move that will open its domestic markets to foreign ocean carriers.
With the change, which is effective immediately, non-Indian owners will be able to transport export-import (exim) containers between Indian ports.
AP Moller-Maersk, which describes itself as the leading operator in the region, has welcomed the decision by India’s Ministry of Shipping.
