Germany’s HS Schiffahrts has acquired another container feedership as it grows it fleet.
Managing director Heinz Josef "Heino" Schepers confirmed the purchase of the 1,341-teu Saturn (built 2008) as the third vessel bought this year by the Haren-based feedership and multipurpose (MPP) operator.
The vessel has been under technical management by HS Schiffahrts for the past year.
It will now be commercially managed as part of a 90-strong fleet of feeder containerships under the newly formed charter venture Arkon Allied Container (ACC).
