The impact of President Trump's latest round of tariffs on $200bn of imported Chinese products on container shipping is uncertain, but one thing is for sure, a shipping analyst says.

"It creates uncertainty," Gregory Lewis, a BTIG analyst previously with Credit Suisse, told TradeWinds.

He said a 10% tax on thousands of Chinese containerised goods to the US, from electronics to food, may not hurt the boxship sector that much as it heads into the off season.
