Overall container volumes for the first six monthsof the year increased 6.3% to 4,010,203 TEUS from the 3,767,277 TEU movementsrecorded in the first half of 2011.
June figures were especially promising, with thetotal box volumes reached 696,847 TEUS, an 8.75% increase over June 2011volumes.
The port notes that this figure includes emptycontainers, which increased 17.2% year over year. June imports, though, reached353,930 TEUS, a 6% increase from the 333,894 TEUS recorded in June 2011.
