The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) found multiple violationson the 1,930-passenger Veendam (built 1996).
These included “brown liquid” dripping on to clean platesand a fly on the buffet.
Refrigerators were out of order and there was improperinstallation of anti-entrapment drain covers in pools, posing a possible dangerto swimmers.
There were also faulty dishwashers that managersallegedly failed to do anything about until inspectors arrived and water from abroken ice machine leaking onto the pool deck.
