Charles Mussuah, 19, boarded the 4,496–teu SafmarineChachai (built 2012) in Ghana and made it all the way to Cape Town, beforecheekily disembarking.
But crew spotted the boat and police found the man in the drifting craft near RobbenIsland, wearing only a pair of shorts.
He was mildly dehydrated after hiding for four days and8,000km.
Mussuah said he had cut a life raft away from the shipwhen it neared Cape Town as he was unsure of its destination.
