New York-listed Danaos has sent the 4,700 teu Commodore (built 1992) to be chopped up in India, brokers and cash buyers say.
A price of between $509 and $510 per ldt has been placed on the pact, which means $11.27m for Danaos.
Cash buyer GMS says the price secured for the ship is fantastic, aided by good ownership and a whopping 85 ton bronze propeller.
