The company pleaded guilty last week to not maintaining accurate records involving the overboard disposal of fuel from its 5,117-teu boxship Bellavia (built 2005), and failing to report damage to its hull after it hit the side in the Panama Canal.

It said in a statement to TradeWinds: "Although some crew members used the Coast Guard’s whistleblower program, our company has an internal reporting system which allows crews to report issues directly to management.

"This
