On Wednesday the company confirmed that the French carrier is not renewing fixtures involving the 4,113-teu Ville d’Aquarius (built 1996) and Ville d’Orion (built 1997).
In the New York-listed company’s first-quarter earnings report it said the former was redelivered last week and indicated the latter will likely be handed back by the end of May.
The future of the vessels, which were earning $7,000 per day a piece with GSL’s lone charterer, also took centre stage during a conference call with analysts and investors.
