The company said the 8,189–teu CMA CGM Hugo(built 2004) has become the first of its vessels to be fitted out with the newnose at the CIC Shanghai shipyard.

As part of the ship’s class renewal, sixblocks were assembled into one big section weighing 250,000 kg.

This took 50 days – and fitting was another10.

The design has been optimised for slowerspeeds and a shallower draft, giving a 5% reduction in bunker use.
