The company also said earnings before interest, tax,depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were $29m, against a $6m loss the yearbefore.

Container volumes rose by 2% to 617,000 teu, but revenue was down at $867m, compared with$918m, reflecting “continued downward pressure on freight rates.”

The average fee per teu was $1,213, down5%.

“The company is continuing to seekefficiency savings as part of its strategy of seeking to offset continuedweakness in freight rates,” it said.
