The European Shippers' Council (ESC) said itunderstood why the Chinese government refused competition approval for theMaersk, MSC and CMA CGM tie-up.
It said it had already expressed its “concernabout the risk of dominant situation created by an alliance that couldrepresent 44% of market shares for trades between China and Europe.”
it added: “The free choice of shippers should be andremain the highest priority.
