The group made up of dozens of industry organisations wrote the leaders from both parties on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation to insist that the proposed Vessel Incidental Discharge Act, or Senate bill 2094, be placed on the agenda for a so-called markup meeting tomorrow (Tuesday).
"S 2094, which will establish nationally uniform and environmentally sound standards for ballast water and other vessel discharges, enjoys broad and deep bipartisan support from senators from all regions of the country," the group said.
