WWL tries Tyne

Ro-ro group Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) had added the UK’s Port of Tyne to its Asia to Europe calls.

The move was made to respond to growing demand from heavy machinery manufacturers.

The first shipment arrived on Wednesday at Port of Tyne, but the call is still not a regular one.

WWL said future stops are a “possibility.”

The port “may easily be added to the existing WWL Asia to Europe service should continued demand be realised,” it said.
