Orient Overseas International has delayed the delivery of four newbuildings in order to improve their performance before they leave the shipyard.
The delivery of the four “SX” class 8,888-teu ships at Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding has been re-scheduled from 2014 into 2015.
A spokesperson from the company told TradeWinds that it chose to delay the ships because the modifications “would be much cheaper if they took place right now”.
