A vessel named Luta, owned by Takahisa Yamamoto, will serve Rota, Saipan, Tinian, the Northern Islands and Guam, according to Northern Marianas senate vice president Victor Hocog.
Hocog told the Marianas Variety daily that he met Yamamoto by accident and invited the investor to come to Saipan.
The 150-foot vessel can carry up to 500 tons of cargo and 20 container vans, plus passengers.
