Following soft prices over the past few months, members of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) Westbound have suggested a rate of $300 per feu from Los Angeles and $750 per feu for all-water US east and gulf coast shipments.
Brian Conrad, executive administrator for TSA-Westbound, said: “Many base cargo rates in the westbound transpacific market are approaching levels that do not justify carriage, especially when you take into account offsetting destination costs.”
