The Indian port of Tuticorin has tendered for a vessel to run to Colombo, the New Indian Express reported.

The vessel should have a capacity of around 500 passengers and 50 crew members, port sources said.

Flemingo Lines ran the previous service with the 12,087-gt passenger ro-ro ferry Scotia Prince (built 1971).

It began in June 2011, but stopped in December after a row over unpaid catering bills.
