The China Shipping company said its net earnings to 30 September were CNY 209.42m ($34.25m), against a loss of CNY 404.36m in the same period of 2013.
Revenue edged up to CNY 9.2bn from CNY 9.16bn, while operating costs fell to CNY 8.68bn compared to CNY 9.35bn a year ago.
Finance charges also fell, but administrative expenses were higher.
In the nine-month period, net profit was CNY 663.56m,
