The company said talks with the Chinese shipyard Rongcheng Shenfei over its second 875-teu ship Bakkafoss have been finalised, with delivery set for the fourth quarter of 2015.
It will pay $0.8m less, for a total of $18m.
Bakkafoss and a sistership delivered in the summer were originally ordered in 2011 at a combined $50m, for hand-over in 2013.
Eimskip had already reduced the overall price by $10.75m
