FMC Commissioner William Doyle said he was “in favor of not taking any further action to delay the implementation” of the agreement.
He said the alliance was “not likely, through a reduction in competition, to result in an unreasonable increase in transportation service or an unreasonable increase in costs.”
In fact, he said that under the tie-up each carrier will have available more service offerings and overall capacity will increase.
