The ferry group signed a letter of intent with shipbuilder Meyer Turku for the newbuilding that will cost around EUR 230m ($286m) and is due for delivery in early 2017.
This will be the seventh ship that Meyer Turku will have delivered to Tallink since 2002 and the second major order for the shipyard since its takeover of STX Finland's cruise business.
