The Environmental License was issued at the end of last week. At the same time the country’s National Concession Council issued a construction start order that stipulates that construction must start within 30 days of January 19, 2015.

The new Moin Container Terminal (MCT) will be built in an area which handles 80% of Costa Rica’s maritime commerce. Currently, the port is limited to vessels of 2,500-teu but after the completion of the project it will be capable of handling up to 13,500-teu boxships.
