The US shipowner inked the agreement with WesPac Midstream and AGL Resources subsidiary Pivotal LNG, which have already been working with the shipowner as they develop an LNG fuelling facility in Jacksonville, Florida.

The three companies say the land has been purchased for the liquefaction facility, and engineering and permitting processes are advancing.

The bunkering station is expected to be operational in mid-2016, several months after the first of the 3,100-teu, dual-fuel ships is delivered in late 2015.
