Earlier this week the bankrupt Danish supplier’s US offspring filed a complaint against the 4,300-dwt Cosco Piraeus (built 2013) in New Jersey’s Southern District.
According to court documents the suit stems from a dispute with Chimbusco Americas, a joint venture between a Cosco affiliate and the China Marine Bunker Supply Co.
The plaintiffs, OW Bunker USA and OW Bunker North America, claim Chimbusco ordered fuel for the Cosco Piraeus late last year but failed to pay after the delivery was made.
