The Seafarers International Union (SIU) of Canada said today that it is “raising the alarm” over the threat it sees in the Canadian-European Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (Ceta).
As TradeWinds has reported, provisions of the proposed agreement would open some of Canada’s protected cabotage trade to European companies.
The union said the provisions “could result in an open door of entry for terrorists, as well as create other security threats”.
