The Paris-based consultancy says only one such vessel is currently unemployed, down from 52 idle units one year ago.
However, it warned that the figure is prone to rise as half a dozen panamaxes are expected to be redelivered during the second half of February.
Panamax spot charter rates have reached $14,000 for round voyages, but the $12,000 mark has yet to be reached for 12 months periods.
