The Pugent Sound terminals, the state’s two largest ports, handled 457,620-teu, according to the Port of Tacoma.
Containerized imports fell nearly 16% year to date to 181,864-teu, while exports were down 8% to 159,124-teu. Domestic volumes to Alaska and Hawaii grew 1% to 116,623-teu.
“Cargo volumes were affected by the prolonged contract negotiations between the International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association,” Port of Tacoma said.
