The Chinese liner giant reported net income of just over CNY 1bn ($160.9m) versus a loss of CNY 2.8bn in 2013.
CSCL said revenue increased 6.3% to CNY 36bn from a year ago, while operating costs edged down 3.2% to CNY 34.8bn.
The shipowner said it remained vigilant on cost control during 2014 and has set up a team to fully implement various cost control measures.
