Anek Lines has cut its deficit for 2014 but also saw its revenue and itineraries fall.

The Greek ferry company posted a loss of EUR 17.8m ($19.1m) compared to red ink of EUR 35.7m in 2013.

It carried 100,000 passengers less year-on-year (1.4m versus 1.5m) while the number of transported vehicles was reduced to 227,000 from 241,000 in 2013.

In a year that saw the tragic disaster of the chartered 26,900-gt ferry Norman Atlantic (built 2009), Anek’s itineraries fell 5%.
