It will pay $260m for the 9,300-teu "state-of-the-art" vessels, two of which will be delivered by September and the last one in February 2016.
The only ships listed by Clarksons as coming close to that size at STX are three 9,200-teu units ordered in 2012 by Fratelli d'Amato for around $264m. They are scheduled for hand-over in April and July this year and February 2016.
