The new route – to be christened AX4 – will see a weekly run from the ports of Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Le Havre to Savannah and New York.
The first departure will take place on 28 April from the port of Bremerhaven and will be operated by the 2,510-teu Ulysses (built 2006).
Hapag said the new service will complement its existing Atlantic network.
