The Port of Los Angeles, the largest container port in the Americas, saw March volumes rise 17.3% year-on-year.
The port handled 791,863-teu last month in what the port described as its “second busiest month in its history”.
Los Angeles’ busiest ever single month was October 2006, when the port handled more than moved 800,000-teu.
However, volumes for the first three months of 2015 were down 5% to 1.8mteu
