The Singapore liner operator said the service would commence with the sailing of the 6,000-teu Wan Hai 601 (built 2007) from Qingdao on 10 May 2015.
The new service, named China Transpacific 3 (TP3) will deploy a total of six vessels of 5,500-6,000-teu each and cover Qingdao, Shanghai, Xiamen and Long Beach.
“With this new service, PIL offers a competitive transit time of 13 days from Xiamen to Long Beach,” the Singapore shipowner said.
