The container line said it had taken a strategic stake in freight forwarder LCL Logistix.
It plans to use LCL’s Indian network, as well as its presence in Canada, the US and East Africa.
The purchase was made through its CMA GM LOG unit, which was created in 2011 to handle logistics and freight forwarding.
LCL is based in Mumbai, with revenue of $120m in 2014.
