Maersk Line has seen its third quarter net profit crash by over 60% versus a year ago, figures released Friday show.

The world’s largest liner operator delivered a profit of $264m for the three months ended 30 September 2015 against the $685m seen in 2014.

“The quarter was characterised by poor market conditions with oversupply and decreased imports into Europe, where freight rates declined to new historical lows,” the company said in a statement.
