Only a week ahead of a key climate change conference in Paris, the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) has said CO2 reductions already implemented will exceed governments’ expectations.

ICS believes that the mandatory measures adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), combined with aggressive fuel efficiency measures worldwide, will deliver far more ambitious CO2 reduction results.

The United Nations says governments’ commitments overall should cut emissions per capita by just 5% in 2030 compared to 2010.

But
