Baltic ro-pax group Scandlines has taken another step towards eliminating emissions on its service between Germany and Denmark.
The “near coast zero emission ferry link” to Rostock using two eco-newbuildings will now also benefit from a wastewater treatment plant in Gedser.
It will process water coming from cleaning exhaust gases with closed-loop scrubbers.
The facility will be up and running in spring 2016.
