Bangladesh port officials are working on starting the country’s first direct shipping service to Thailand.
The run would connect Chittagong to Ranong in south-western Thailand, Bdnews24 said.
A 12-member delegation from the Port Authority of Thailand arrived in Dhaka on Monday to assess the feasibility of the link, the Bangladesh embassy in Bangkok said.
Official talks were due to take place on Tuesday.
The service would be the first direct one from Bangladesh to an ASEAN country.
