German line Hapag-Lloyd has added eight boxships to its fleet through sale and charter deals.
It said on Wednesday it had taken delivery of two 2015-built wide-beam 3,500-teu vessels acquired for an undisclosed price from West Afican specialist NileDutch.
They will be deployed on runs in South America.
The Dutch owner is listed as operating four 3,508-teu vessels built in 2014 and 2015, plus a veteran multipurpose.
