Danish owner DFDS has extended a contract that sees three of its ro-ros available for use by the German and Danish military.

The Ark scheme will last another four years for the 2,308–lane-metre Ark Futura (built 1996) and the 2,722-lane-metre Britannia Seaways (built 2000) and Suecia Seaways (built 1999) with the Joint Movement Transport Organisation (JMTO).

"It is a very good cooperation, which both we and hopefully the military will appreciate, and therefore I am very pleased that we have now been able to sign a new contract," said DFDS' shipping executive vice president, Peder Gellert, according to Maritime Denmark.
