A UK insurer has highlighted the importance of transhipment cargo paperwork after a fine was imposed for late filing in Argentina.
The International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC) says it deals on a regular basis with claims resulting from errors by agents.
A fine of 1% of the value of the cargo was imposed after a ship arrived in Buenos Aires and the agent forgot to declare a transhipment cargo within 15 days.
