Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) is offering fee cuts of up to 65% for boxships leaving US east coast ports, in a battle to win back lost business.
It said that the move was being made to “pay more attention to its users’ best interest.”
The authority had also considered changes in the global shipping market and the world economy, as well as talking to shipping lines, it added.
